Industrial fans, unlike ceiling fans, are typically made to run for continuous lengths of time, without overheating. Most times, these high powered fans are used in commercial areas/businesses, in order to maintain comfortable temperatures, provide ventilation, exhaust or air-cleaning.
Industrial fans typically have fewer fan blades than other ceiling fans, since the fewer fan blades there are, the move air can be moved. These fans usually have longer fan blades, and sometimes have a higher blade pitch than standard fans, in order to get the optimum airflow and ventilation for these larger areas. In commercial settings, these fans are great for keeping machines from overheating and keeping workers in a healthy, manageable climate. During the winter months, industrial fans can circulate the heat that gets trapped around the ceiling, and push it back into towards the floor area.
Since industrial fans are larger and run at an extremely high RPM, it is important that they be installed a safe distance from the floor. For safe operation, it is recommended that these industrial fans be installed a minimum of 10 feet from the floor.
Some of these industrial fans can operate in damp locations, but are mostly recommended for dry locations. Due to the distance between the fan and the floor, a pull chain is not a sensible option for controlling industrial fans. Most of the industrial fan models come with wall control panels for controlling power and speeds, while others also have the option of purchasing and using a remote control to manage your industrial fan’s functions.
Fan Diego has an assortment of industrial fans with an array of different finishes, such as Brushed Steel, Appliance White, Roman Bronze and Barbeque Black. Many models are also Energy Star qualified, so you can run these fans continually, without using up an abundance of energy.
