FULL TRANSCRIPT OF THE AVIATION BY MINKA AIRE – 2013 CEILING FAN REVIEW:

Hi, I'm John with Fan Diego, the ceiling fan store, and I want to introduce a new fan by Minka Aire, called The Wave. The Wave by Minka Aire, is somewhat exceptional in that it is a very nice style and it comes in at a nice price point at about $199.

Ceiling Fan Specs: The Wave By Minka Aire CFMs

It's a three-blade fan, 52 inch diameter. I think the most important questions to answer about these celling fans are how much air will the fan move, and how quiet is the fan going to be? A bit of discrepancy with the facts that Minka Aire gives about this in terms of its air movement, and the air movement is judged by what we call CFM. A CFM refers to how many cubit feet per minute of air the fan moves. Now, the box says it moves 6500 CFM's. That's very good CFM's for a 52-inch fan, but the catalog introducing the fan says it offers 5300 CFM's.

The Minka Aire Wave ceiling fan has a 172 millimeter motor, which is a decent midsize motor. The three-blade system enables it to move a little bit more air than a standard five-blade. Not tremendously more, but a little bit. They say it has a 60-degree blade pitch, which is extreme, to say the least, and I think that comes in right here, where it goes from being vertical to being more horizontal here. My guess is that comes somewhere in between the 5300 and the 6500, although that's a very big discrepancy there. Based on the facts of motor size and blade pitch, I would say it's probably closer to the 5300, but even at that is a pretty decent range for a fan with this kind of style at the $199 price point.

    Minka Aire Wave Best Use

How quiet is the fan going to be? I'll put it this way; I wouldn't put it in my master bedroom. But, I think it has lots of other applications where it would be great. Kids room, maybe some restaurant applications where it doesn't have to be extremely quiet, but I think for the price, you're getting a lot of style and some good air movement. To check out The Wave and some of the other fans of Inspired Designs by Minka Aire, you can shop for ceiling fans online at fandiego.com, or come into one of our ceiling fan showrooms.

FULL TRANSCRIPT OF THE AVIATION BY MINKA AIRE - 2013 CEILING FAN REVIEW:

Hi, I'm John of Fan Diego, and I want to introduce a new fan by Minka Aire called the Aviation. The Aviation is worthy of an introduction because it is a DC motor fan, and I think a lot of you guys that have seen some of my video before know how big of a fan I am of DC motors. The DC motors are exceptionally quiet, and enable the fan to move quite a bit of air.

The Aviation by Minka Aire is a three blade fan with a 60 inch blade span, which makes it a bit larger than normal. It moves 6600 CFM's, the CFM refers to the general standard of air movement, referring to how many cubic feet of air per minute ceiling fans move, and 6600 is a very high, a very good number. This fan consumes 29 watts in the highest speed, so this fan is generating 6600 CFM, consuming 29 watts, that is a pretty exceptional energy efficiency, and getting past that, you know that's impressive, but the fan itself is exceptionally styled.

Sleek, integrated design, it's going to have six speeds, it comes with your remote control and you can expect the fan to be very quiet. Your DC motors are not only very energy efficient, but they're also very quiet. So if you want to take a look at this fan, you can come to one of our showrooms, or you can shop our ceiling fans online; the Aviation by Minka Aire.

Introducing the New Casablanca Concentra Gallery

Hi. I'm John with Fan Diego, the ceiling fan store, and I want to take a minute to introduce a new fan by Casablanca called the Concentra Gallery. The Concentra Gallery is what I feel to be a pretty exceptional value. It has a medium size motor, it comes with a light kit, and it's about $269. This is kind of a new thing that Casablanca's done, is they've come out with some fans in between that $200 to $300 price point, what I call a uni-pack fan, with lighting and blades, to compete with some of the other brands that were doing well at that price point. One thing that I find to be very encouraging about Casablanca doing this is that with the Casablanca name, you can expect to think with a fair degree of certainty that the fan is going to be a quality product. The two primary questions that I like to answer anytime I do an introduction for ceiling fansare, how quiet will the fan be and how much air is it going to move?

    Casablanca Concentra Gallery Fan Specs

This fan moves 6100 CFM's. It's a 54-inch fan. That's very good air movement for some rooms. It consumes 81 watts of electricity on the highest speed, which isn't bad for a standard motor. It has a medium-sized motor, what we call 172 millimeter motor, and generally the rule of thumb is the bigger the motor, the quieter the product. It doesn't have the motor that they have in the Panama or some of their bigger-motored fans, but I would not have any doubts putting it into my master bedroom. But it's a Casablanca product, and with that motor you can count on it being pretty quiet for you and it's going to move a good amount of air. We've sold a good amount over the last few months that they've been here. We haven't had any come back because of the motor noise. It's what I would expect of Casablanca. I'm not quite sure I'd put it in my master bedroom, but I'd definitely put it in my kids' rooms or living room, where I'm watching TV and playing. To clarify that, out of the box everything should be quiet. I'm looking down the road five, six, seven, eight years or so, that's when the size of the motor and strength of the motor really kick in, in terms of making sure they're quiet, but at $269, the fan comes in four colors, snow white, antique brass, brushed steel and a nice bronze, they call it Arcadia bronze.

Casablanca Quality with a FREE ($75 Value) Remote Control

It comes with your light kit. It's just a great value for those of you who are looking for a good quality product, perhaps on a bit more of a budget, you want a fan and lights, and for a limited time, you can get a free remote control with this when you buy through Fan Diego. A $75 value. It is the remote control made for this fan by Casablanca. And with that deal, it's an excellent value. To see the Concentra and some other nice values, you can check more ceiling fans online at fandiego.com or you can come to one of our showrooms.

  • VIDEO: CASABLANCA PANAMA CEILING FAN REVIEW – 2013

FULL TRANSCRIPT OF NEW CASABLANCA PANAMA CEILING FAN REVIEW – 2013

    Introduction to the NEW Panama

Hi, I'm John of Fan Diego, the ceiling fan store, and I want to take a minute to introduce the new Panama by Casablanca. Now, a lot of you out there probably recognize the Casablanca name, and recognize the Panama model, however this is a new version of the Panama. When I first heard about it, I wasn't the most excited. They are using a different motor than they've used in the Panama for the last 30 years or so. I think that some of you know if you watched some of my other videos, my two primary concerns when it comes to judging fans are how quiet the fan is going to be, most importantly, and secondly how much air the fan will move. Now, this Panama, in terms of how much air the fan move is the best introduction to date, and that means that over the last 30 years there hasn't been a Panama that's moved more air than this Panama. This Panama comes in moving 7,375 CFM's and that is exceptional. When you get into the 7,000 range of CFM's, and CFM's are referred to how many cubic feet of air the fan moves per minute, your fan is moving a tremendous amount of air.

New Casablanca Panama Fan: The Difference

Casablanca tells us that the fan has been tested and it is more quiet than the other Panama's that have been introduced at this point. That's encouraging, but it's a little bit difficult for me to wrap my head around because, some of you know that the Panama is one of the best ceiling fans made. It's definitely one of the best and I can think of some other brands that are exceptional, in terms of how quiet they are, and how much air the fan moves. But this Panama is also an exceptional value. It's a little less expensive than the older standardized versions. This is the new evolution of the Panama. I don't want to detract from the old versions, they're great. Another difference is that this Panama has four speeds. Some of the other standard version Panama's have six speeds. It's interesting that this fan will move more air in your higher speeds than your other one will, you just have more leeway in between your low and your high speeds than the other Panama.

Limited Time Casablanca Panama Fan Deal

This is definitely a Panama that I would put in a master bedroom, or my master bedroom where I want it exceptionally quiet. We have a ton of these in stock right now. They are on our website, and for a limited time, through July, you can get a free remote control, which is a $75 value with the pull chain versions. To see this fan and some of the other great new introductions like the Casablanca, you can check them out online at fandiego.com or come into one of our ceiling fan showrooms.
